Vintage Hertwig & Company German Porcelain Half-Doll Double Pin Cushion, C1915. Exquisite German porcelain half doll made by German Doll Maker, Hertwig & Company, founded in 1864. Magnificent half doll with milky white porcelain skin and molded French pompadour hair with delicate blue ribbon "framing" a gorgeous and delicately detailed face with rosy cheeks, vivid blue eyes and red lips. . She holds one hand against the back of her hair and the other against her breast. She is wearing a molded stomacher dress with yellow ruffled bodice and a gorgeous creamy yellow outer silk skirt tied with a yellow ribbon. The outer skirt is sewn through the holes around the base. The "inner" skirt is actually two full silk pin cushions. The silk skirt and pin cushions were made approximately ten years ago. This beauty is in EXCELLENT condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs and measures 3 3/4" tall and 8 3/4" tall including the pin cushions. Germany and the numbers 6847 are incised across the bottom of her back, which denotes a Hertwig & Company mold number. The silk skirt and pin cushions are in Excellent condition with no rips, tears, no holes, no pulling away from the porcelain doll.
