Here is a rare to find little medical implement, one invalid spoon. Made from sterling silver, shaped as a shell, handled, on a round base, it is engraved with a Christian Cross on pourer. Due to its little size, we think that it is a potion spoon, probably for Catholic Hospital (Hotel Dieu, in France) or for private use of a religious person. Here is a stunning item, curious, and rare collectable!
Dimensions: 4ins x 3ins = 10cm x 7,5cm. Weight is near 27 grams.
Condition: Is good, but not perfect, we mention some wear here and there, little distortions and cracks on little foot, not very visible.
This is a French fine working, dating from 1819/38, hallmarked with the French rabbit head, an authentic antique sterling medical spoon that we fully guarantee.
