Antique treasures for the discriminating collector. Lay-away available upon request.
This gorgeous piece was hand painted by renowned artist K. Ryba, who was associated with J.H. Stouffer Company, an early 20th century art studio located in Chicago. During the early 1900’s, the company imported French and German blanks and decorated them, while employing some of the best artists in the china painting business, many of whom had also worked for Pickard.
The underside of the plate bears the A. Klingenberg Limoges manufacturer's Mark 7 (circa 1890’s–1910), and the red Stouffer Mark # 4 (circa 1906-1914). A similar example of this piece can be found on page 292 of the “Collector’s Encyclopedia of Pickard China,” by Alan B. Reed.
Plate measures 9.5 inches. Condition is very good to excellent, minimal wear.
